The City of San Pablo is actively seeking candidates for the position of Senior Civil Engineer to perform complex engineering work on a variety of projects. About the Position: Reporting to the City Engineer, the Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for performing professional and technical Civil engineering duties requiring specialized knowledge; to plan, organize, direct and supervise assigned staff engaged in municipal Public Works Engineering Division; Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) including planning, design review, construction, plan checking, inspections, and special studies and reports; and to provide highly responsible professional support to assigned management.; performs related work as assigned. Education and Experience: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
Experience: Four (4) or more years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience including some responsibility for directing the work of engineers and support personnel.
License and Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver’s license.
Registration, possession, and maintenance of a Civil Engineer license issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologist.
