Tectonic is currently seeking full-time Construction Inspectors, Senior Inspectors and Chief Inspectors for upcoming ConnDOT projects within the Hartford, CT and surrounding areas! This is an exciting opportunity for professional growth and advancement within the A/E/C industry!
Chief Inspector should possess:
Valid CT Professional Engineering License or a valid NICET IV certification and a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil, highway, or relevant engineering field with 4 years of inspection experience and 2 years of supervisory experience;
ConnDOT experience or other DOT experience is required;
Relevant NETTCP certifications, or the ability to require them within a reasonable time period is a plus.
Senior Inspector should possess:
Requires a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; ConnDOT or other DOT experience is desired, and must possess HS Diploma or equivalent and maintain one of the following licenses/certifications:
Valid NICET Level III or higher Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction;
Valid CT Professional Engineering License;
BS in Civil Engineering or similar;
Ability to perform quantity and engineering computations, and to read and interpret plans and specifications.
Construction Inspector should possess:
A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; ConnDOT or similar construction inspection experience is required;
Must possess HS Diploma or equivalent and maintain one of the following licenses/certifications:
Valid NICET Level II or higher Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction;
BS in Civil Engineering or similar;
Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations, and to read and interpret plans and specifications.
While performing the essential functions of this position, it is frequently necessary to:
Assume a stationary position,
Handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job;
Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using Company email and telephone systems;
Move around on the job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods of time,
Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections,
Good visual skills, including focused depth perception, and
Regular daily operations of a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.
Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines.
