MERMEC Inc. is an industry leader in real-time, high speed railway inspection systems and services. We are looking for a highly intelligent and motivated Rolling Stock (Railcar) Mechanic to join our team to support the growth of our North American business unit. Your primary responsibility will be for both preventative and corrective maintenance of railcars, troubleshooting and repair of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic systems. Qualified candidates will possess strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
MERMEC Inc. has been awarded a contract with the Federal Railway Administration to operate a high- speed geometry test car as part of the Automated Track Inspection Program. As a member of our team you will assist with this project, as well as working on multiple other existing projects.
Manage preventative and predictive maintenance in accordance with rolling stock vehicle manuals
Complete and organize all reporting documents
Manage vehicle spare parts and consumables
Troubleshoot and repair
Diesel traction engines
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Plant
Electric Rolling Stock Plant
Knowledge of bogie dynamics
Domestic field service – travel required
Knowledge of the principals of track safety
Knowledge of the structure of railway cars
Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical/pneumatic drawings
Must possess strong problem solving skills
Must work with limited supervision
Must hold a valid driver’s license
Candidate must be able to lift 75
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent Microsoft office and operating system skills
