The Public Works' Transportation division has an exciting Summer internship opportunity for 2 - 3 students currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Urban Planning program at an accredited institution.
A presentation to the County Administrator and other County Leadership staff is required at the close of the internship program.
Participate in organized intern events.
Collect roadway conditions, bridge conditions or bicycle/pedestrian access conditions and enter them into Pavement Management program, Bridge Asset Management program (BAMP) or Bicycle/Pedestrian Access program
Assist the coordination of capital projects data collection and update them into Cartegraph or Excel spreadsheets
Administrative functions, as needed
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, must be flexible
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Ability and willingness to work outdoors
Drug Free Work Environment EOE/AA/ADA
Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a 4-5 year Civil Engineering or Urban Planning program at a University or College
Experience using Cartegraph and/or ArcGIS preferred
Engineering intern (EI) preferred
