Construction Engineering & Management, Assistant / Associate / Professor The Department of Engineering Technology and Construction Management at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a tenure track position in Construction Engineering and Management. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach courses in construction engineering and management, and develop / maintain a funded research program that complements and supports multidisciplinary research efforts in construction engineering and management (BS/MS) and infrastructure and environmental systems (PhD) programs. Expertise should be in Construction Engineering or Construction Management as evidenced by education and experience. An earned doctorate in Civil Engineering (construction emphasis), Construction Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Engineering or a closely related discipline is expected. Candidates with construction management expertise and/or experience in pre-construction services, alternative delivery methods, construction means and methods, sustainable infrastructure development, resilient infrastructure, smart / sustainable buildings and/or communities, commercial construction, heavy horizontal construction, and/or urban vertical construction in the mid- to high-rise environment are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a proven record of scholarship and funded research may be considered for higher rank. Candidates seeking Associate Professor or higher rank should clearly indicate rank applied for and outline qualifications for that rank in the cover letter as well as provide three recent publications. Candidates must possess excellent leadership, organizational, teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills, and must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment that serves a diverse student population. Relevant professional practice experience is preferred with preference for candidates with professional registration or certification (PE, CCM, etc.). Prior teaching experience is also preferred but not essential. Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications.
