Technical Manager (Official Job Title: Manager II - Construction): This position oversees assigned infrastructure projects, providing overall direction for completing complex construction programs/projects, leading work teams, and handling multi-disciplinary and technically challenging projects and programs within the CIP. Typical projects involve interagency, inter-jurisdictional or multi-disciplinary coordination and public involvement. Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five years. Duties: Plans, organizes, supervises, directs and reviews the work of assigned personnel, in the execution of various types of projects/improvements during construction:
Alignment of Business Center Core Services with BCC Strategic Issues:
Manages proactive assessments of fraud awareness, prevention, detection and risk mitigation activities in area of responsibility; oversees financial, compliance, operational and performance audits; reviews audit findings and ensures appropriate controls are established and implemented. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering or Construction Management AND six (6) years of related experience - OR - a Master's Degree with four (4) or more years of related experience. Supervisory experience required. May consider substituting years of experience for the four-year degree. Preferred Qualifications: Professional Engineering (P.E.) certification from the State of Florida and/or advanced professional certification highly desirable. |
