Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. is currently searching for an IDOT Support Professional in Springfield, IL. The position is considered temporary but may last one year or longer based on performance and workload.
The work location will be in IDOT’s Central Office (Hanley Building) in Springfield, Illinois. Travel is not anticipated for this position. Office space and computer access will be provided by the Bureau of Design and Environment.
Candidates for this position will be required to work under a confidentiality agreement with IDOT and undergo a background check.
Environmental Survey Request (ESR) and Preliminary Environmental Site Assessment (PESA)
Provide technical review of the ESR
Discuss and coordinate with district environmental coordinators
Coordinate with Illinois State Geological Survey (ISGS)
Ensure adequacy of ISGS reports and tasking orders
Process and distribute the PESA documents to the Districts and others
Populate the Project Monitoring Application (PMA) and other databases and verify the integrity of data used by the Unit and District environmental coordinators
Record Retention Coordinator; track and maintain internal documents with respect to policy and procedures
Assist Unit Chief, Senior Specialist and Specialist
Perform other duties as required or assigned; for example, processing of final environmental construction reports (FECRs), assisting with review of compliance documents, and review of NEPA documents. Other duties may be assigned as needed to support the Unit’s workload
Skills / Qualifications
The person should have the following qualifications and experience to be successful in this position:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Geology
2 to 5 years of related experience
Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs, UST / LUST
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Access
Familiarity with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) document reviews, groundwater ordinances, and environmental regulatory compliance.
