Position Overview The City of Evans is seeking a dynamic City Engineer to serve as a member of a collaborative team to pave the way for future success. The City Engineer will lead a team of professional staff and ensuring high quality design, construction, and functionality of City infrastructure; collaborate with community development and public works staff to ensure effective and efficient, customer–centered service; and represent Evans in regional infrastructure planning forums. Ideal Candidate The City is seeking a highly experienced, motivated, collaborative, and engaging professional with well-developed leadership, management, planning, organizational, budgeting, and communication skills to oversee the City’s Engineering Division, including the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have robust experience in CIP project management and best practices, and a proven track record of community engagement. Strong candidates will also have a customer-focused service orientation and be responsive in working with numerous customers to come up with practical answers to issues/problems. This individual will enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and will be an effective, respected representative of the City. In addition, the ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and practices that are applicable to public works, including surveying, inspection, construction practices, and GIS. Candidates with the demonstrated ability to mentor, develop and motivate talented staff favorably considered. Compensation The hiring range for the City Engineer is $99,800 - $123,200 annually and will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and match the desired attributes sought by the City.
