ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR IN AEROSPACE ENGINEERING - The Aerospace Engineering Departments within the College of Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, CA invite applications for a full-time, academic year tenure-track faculty appointment in the area of aerospace engineering, at a rank and salary commensurate with the applicant's background and experience (assistant or associate professor level). The anticipated start date is September 12, 2019.

Duties include teaching coursework in Aerospace Engineering, building a collaborative research program in the area of Satellite Communication and Power systems, and service to the departments, university, and community. Desired areas of expertise include satellite electronics systems with a special interest in the CubeSat form factor and UAV Communication systems. It is expected that the successful candidate will create a strong, hands-on research program working with undergraduate and graduate students.
An earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline is required. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and laboratory-based instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and exhibit potential for professional recognition via research and publication in the area of Satellite Communications and Power Systems. The department is seeking candidates who have an interdisciplinary mindset and who work well in a highly collaborative environment. Demonstrated ability in written and oral use of the English language is required.
