Gannett Fleming is looking for a Business Development Director responsible for leading the development of an integrated Enterprise Business Development Lifecycle and successfully managing the Business Development Lifecycle Program (BDLP). The Director will also be responsible for the successful launch and management of the Microsoft AE360 CRM, that supports the new BDLP. Due to the nature of the role, this individual could be based in any one of our large regional offices to include Position will report to COO/President. At a high level, key responsibilities will be to:
Facilitate the use of best practices for business development company wide
Lead and support the efforts of BD&M leadership across the company
Verify, Implement and Evolve the BDLP corporately
Direct the Corporate CRM and BD Data systems and staff
Direct the Corporate Marketing Team
Facilitate development of, Key Performance Indicators to coordinate, measure and Report Sales Goals across Business Lines
Business Development Team Leadership and Operations
Evaluate and manage the development of the model for a Business Development Operations organization with a cross-functional team of leaders
Lead the Business Development Operations organization that helps to develop and implement our growth strategy using technology, predictive analytics, trend monitoring, and other leading-edge tools
Manage all operational aspects for a Business Development Operations team including program management and implementation of standard processes
Develop, coordinate, and implement plans designed to increase existing business and capture new opportunities
Supervise the business development lifecycle program
Support the development of overall business development plans
Support business development and capture planning through regional and global business line directors
Develop and manage investment expenditures related to corporate BDLP and strategic initiatives
Facilitate and lead the development of the firm's strategic client portfolio
Define business requirements for systems, infrastructure and operations necessary to support the Business Development Initiatives including metrics, survey systems, and other tooling.
Lead the CRM team in defining and managing strategic goals and deliverables
Business Plan Development and Implementation
Key contributor in annual and multiyear business planning process
Support COO to drive business planning for the firm by setting up Business Line meeting cadence and working meetings
Coordinate, guide and follow-up with participants to complete forward looking business plans. Collaborate with executives to set objectives for strategic marketing and identify methods to reach those goals
Support strategic project plans to meet business goals
Conduct regular business development meetings with business lines and regions to manage key client accounts, proposals, and capture planning
Engage with appropriate firm leadership to help implement the growth strategy through business plans
Collaborate with regional and global business line directors on the implementation of business plans and marketing plans throughout the year
This is a strategic role with multi-tiered touch points ensuring tactical marketing aspects are coordinated and carried out in a cohesive and consistent manner across the organization.
Global planning, scope, and execution of Gannett Fleming marketing strategies, ensuring all plans and tactics are successfully coordinated for the successful attainment of targeted business unit results.
Oversee all Gannett Fleming marketing communications, web presence, digital marketing, social media and brand management functions ensuring the overarching marketing strategy for each business segment is consistent and aligned in terms of brand and messaging.
Collaborate with marketing team and operational leadership on elements of the marketing strategy, market segmentation, marketing communications, competitive intelligence, marketing research and marketing analysis.
10+ years managing operations organizations supporting internal teams, owners/partners and clients
Advanced practical understanding of Business Development Lifecycles for consulting and/or service provider organizations. Preference will be given to candidates experienced in the Engineering or Architectural Consulting industry.
Deep understanding of engineering consulting’s service offerings and value proposition
Management of budgets and costs related to business development and marketing across the enterprise
Professional skills in planning, account management, sales execution, reporting and communications
Demonstrated leadership experience, to include managing remote teams
Strong understanding of CRM system, specifically Microsoft Dynamics
Demonstrated management of a successful sales and marketing organization
Demonstrated management of marketing data support systems and staff
Demonstrated Ability to establish & manage sales and performance metrics
Lead and oversee staffing establishing marketing campaigns including use of conventional tools and digital media
Demonstrated management of staff and systems related to BD and marketing
Experience with operational initiatives related to marketing, sales, proposals and presentations
Development of educational program and training tools related to Business Development and Customer Relationship Management technology
Exhibits sound business judgment, a proven ability to influence others, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of taking ownership, leading data-driven analyses, and influencing results
