The Glenn Department of Civil Engineering at Clemson University invites applications for a faculty position in the area of construction engineering and management with an emphasis on sustainable infrastructure development. We seek candidates with exceptional ability to conduct innovative research in, but not limited to, smart and sustainable buildings, emerging technologies in digital modeling and construction automation as it relates to the built environment, construction safety, integrated project delivery methods, smart and connected communities, and infrastructure resilience and restoration.
The Glenn Department is growing to be a national leader in sustainable and resilient infrastructure research and education. The Department recently received an NSF Revolutionizing Engineering and Computer Science Department, or RED, award. Our RED award is aimed at creating an undergraduate program model for academic departments around the nation to follow.
Several opportunities exist to contribute to this transformative effort. The position is open to all ranks. Chaired Professorship opportunities may be available to outstanding candidates seeking Associate or Full Professor ranks. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in civil engineering or related discipline at the time of hiring. They must have the ability and desire to teach civil engineering undergraduate and graduate courses in the construction engineering and management area, to collaborate with others within the department, college, and university, to develop a robust externally funded research program, and to mentor graduate and undergraduate students in their research efforts.
