The American Concrete Institute (www.concrete.org) is a leading authority and resource worldwide for the development and distribution of consensus-based standards, technical resources, and educational programs. ACI members are individuals and organizations involved in concrete design, construction, and materials, who share a commitment to pursuing the best use of concrete.
We are looking for an individual who is interested in broadening their skills in concrete design and construction while contributing to ACI’s mission of developing and disseminating consensus-based knowledge on concrete and its uses. The individual in this position will work alongside and learn from industry experts and a staff of talented engineers. This individual will support ACI committees as they develop ACI publications, answer questions related to ACI products, present information at industry events, and other tasks that support the overall mission of ACI.
The ideal candidate meets the following criteria:
Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
Master Degree preferred
Professional Engineer designation desired
A minimum of 4 years practical experience with an emphasis in concrete repair, concrete materials, or reinforced concrete design
Proficient editing skills necessary
Presentation skills desired
Must be willing and able to travel up to 4-5 weeks per year
About American Concrete Institute
ACI is a private, not-for-profit engineering, scientific, educational organization that develops, promotes, and coordinates standards and technology for the concrete design and construction industry. Founded in 1904, ACI provides a forum for all the stakeholders involved in concrete design, construction, operations, maintenance, and repair. ACI’s membership primarily includes: practicing engineers, contractors, management personnel, educators, materials suppliers, government employees, and students.
ACI has approximately 20,000 members with about 20 percent of these members residing outside the United States. There are 115 countries represented on the membership rolls. The Institute supports 100 independently-operated chapters throughout the world. Forty two of these chapters are outside the U.S.A. Additionally, there are 44 student chapters.
