Provides critical public safety services by providing technical modeling support to meet the Districts legal responsibilities under State of Arizona AAC R12-15-1221. The technical support is for development and periodic update of Emergency Action Plans for the District's flood control dam structures, and development of Flood Control District strategies to reduce risks to lives and property in dam inundation zones and floodplains that would result from spillway flows and/or structure failure and significant storm events. The position also provides technical expertise for the District's ADMS/ADMP program two-dimensional modeling efforts. Performs in-house studies/analyses/modeling related to one-and two-dimensional modeling for support of the EAP program. Designs, coordinates and reviews the District's FLO-2D post-processing tools and FLO-2D Web Tool application. Tests engineering software developed by the River Mechanics Branch and others on real projects related to hydrology and hydraulics prior to developing scopes of work and guidelines for use by the District's engineering consultants on various projects. Reviews/approves hydrology and hydraulic reports, models, data, and parameters submitted to the District as ADMS/ADMP's, watercourse master plans, engineering studies/analyses, engineering design/plans, permit requests, etc. Other duties as assigned.

A Bachelor's degree in a work related engineering discipline such as, but not limited to civil, chemical, environmental, or mechanical engineering; or in a physical or biological science directly related to the assigned duties and three (3) years' progressively responsible professional civil engineering work experience on dam safety projects, hydrologic and hydraulic surface water modeling, and flood hazard delineation projects.
