Advanced Construction Techniques has some great internship opportunities available for student and/or graduate Engineers looking to gain valuable field work experience while working with the industry's leading technologies.

We currently have internship positions available for Field Engineers at our project site near Columbia, Virginia. These internships offer valuable hands-on experience in geotechnical engineering and analysis, and construction management.

  • Internships will run from hire date through late June with possible extensions.
  • This is not an office job.
  • Your boots will get dirty.

Working with site Project Management and the Head Office teams, our Field Engineer Interns use the latest industry technologies to monitor construction activities and perform Quality Control testing and technical analyses to ensure safe and successful execution of our projects.

 

The successful applicants will:

  • Have successfully completed at least 3 full credit years of a degree in Engineering (Civil or Geotechnical)  from a recognized U.S. institution.
  • Be proficient working with computers and MS Office programs.
  • Be self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and English language communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Possess the ability to work individually and integrate with work performance as part of a team.
  • Be available to work overtime and shift work, as required.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license and independent means of transportation to work locations.
  • Experience using MS Project and/or Primavera is an asset but not required.

The positions are safety sensitive and require the ability to freely access all parts of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
