Facilities Design and Construction (FDC) manages improvement projects through the design and construction phases for the University. Our mission is to minimize financial risk and achieve the best possible results within the budget and time frame required for the benefit of the entire campus community. The department builds consensus and educates faculty, staff, students, designers and contractors in order to achieve the highest quality product possible. Engineer- Project Management
The Facilities Design and Construction department at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is seeking a Design Project Manager with experience and expertise in Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing Engineering. The position is responsible for planning, budgeting, prioritizing, and design process for new and renovation Capital Improvement projects ranging from $300,000 to $100 million and minor renovation projects ranging from $30,000 to $300,000. This position will provide continuity during the projects’ design phase to exemplify UNCG’s instructional goals of Expertise, Accountability, Customer-Oriented, Team-Oriented, and Compliance & Integrity in their work. Seeking a candidate with comprehensive problem solving and advanced communication skills. The University desires experience in institutional or state projects, and excellent oral and written communication skills. Seeking a person who is energetic and flexible to change from one task to another, as needs arise in a fast-paced department. A minimum of 5 years’ experience is highly preferred. Five (5) years experience in higher education Project Management experience with the NC State Construction Office Experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects including but not limited to, fire alarms, HVAC and plumbing modifications and retrofits, utility infrastructure and electrical upgrades in medium voltage systems.
