Government, Regulatory and Code, Quality, Quality Engineering
This individual oversees all aspects of the organization’s quality management efforts including measuring and reporting on progress towards strategic quality and cost reduction goals, developing and administrating the policies and procedures matrix, facilitating and leading process improvement initiatives, and monitoring alignment of requirements between regulatory and certifying bodies, customers, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Modeling company values and behaviors and enforcing the company Code of Conduct
Being a champion of all safety, health and environmental initiatives
Reviewing new Editions of the ASME B&PV Code when required, and implementing necessary changes to the company’s quality assurance program in a timely fashion
Ensuring instructions, procedures drawings, and other documents are generated and approved by the appropriate personnel and that the correct revisions of those documents are maintained accessible by the personnel performing the work
Maintaining organized, complete, and legible records demonstrating objective evidence that applicable Code, contract, and customer requirements have been met and verified
Ensuring personnel performing functions affecting quality have received and documented adequate training
Keeping the management staff informed of the status, adequacy, and overall effectiveness of the quality management system
Establishing statistical analysis methods to evaluate trends and improve processes, reducing nonconformances and maximizing first pass yield
Tracking prevention and analysis/inspection activities vs. internal and external failures rates, and allocating resources as necessary to minimize the overall cost of quality
Implementing and managing the corrective action program, including verifying effective implementation of solutions
Informing the President of those quality problems that require his attention to achieve suitable corrective actions
Initiating protocols for evaluating deviations involving Basic Components and ensuring customers are notified when those evaluations determine a deviation might reasonably result in a substantial safety hazard as described in 10CFR21
Limiting further processing or delivery of a nonconforming item or unsatisfactory condition until proper dispositioning is accomplished
Providing adequate inspection facilities to assure that verification of materials, items, and valve parts is properly executed
Scheduling and approving supplier audits and surveys prior to placement on the authorized suppliers’ list
Monitoring supplier quality performance and providing input to supply chain management for supplier selection and pricing decisions
Maintaining and safeguarding the ASME Certification Mark Stamps to assure use is only in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Code

Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Basic computer skills, including knowledge of and experience with the following software types: Enterprise Resource Management, Quality Management Systems, Calibration and Gauge Control, Payroll/Labor Management, Microsoft Office Suite

ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence
Six Sigma Black Belt
NQA-1 Lead Auditor Preferred
Master's degree with three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
